Here at Carolina Beach, we’re ready for an exciting year full of activities. With new restaurants, hotel renovations, outdoor activities and more, this classic beach town is the ultimate coastal destination. Whether you’ve been coming here for years or are planning your first trip, we’ve got what you have to look forward to this year.
It’s in our nature
Major progress is being made on the new Island Greenway Project. Slated to be complete by mid-summer of 2018, this project will result in a 1.2-mile paved path that will take pedestrians and bikers safely through town. Paddle NC will be adding bike rentals to its Carolina Beach State Park location, where renters can reserve bikes for a half day or full day. Along with standup paddleboard (SUP) and kayak rentals, Paddle NC offers overnight kayak expeditions.
More fun for the entire family
For the thrill seekers, iEscape Rooms, the area’s most challenging escape room, will now host events, private parties and offer corporate bookings with bring-your-own beer or wine. This is the perfect place for a group retreat or an exciting indoor activity when you need a break from the sun. Tony Silvagni Surf School has a new location right by the Carolina Beach Boardwalk where visitors can rent gear and shop. The staff will deliver rentals to visitors by ATV on the beach (AKA, less work on your part!). Renting a vacation home for the entire family? They’ll even deliver bikes, kayaks, chairs and more right to your front door!
New eats and drinks
If you’re a fan of Surf House, you’ll love its new sister restaurant, The Southerly Biscuit & Pie. This Southern concept is changing the culinary scene at Carolina Beach with seasonal pies and biscuits so tall and fluffy you’ll feel like you’re eating a cloud. Carolina Smokehouse opened its coastal doors at the end of 2017 and will add a rooftop bar in 2018. This restaurant features delectable southern BBQ and famous Carolina Smokehouse sauce. Say hello to your new favorite lunch spot at the beach!
Fans of Good Hops Brewing will be excited to hear the brewery opened a Beer Garden in late 2017. Non-beer lovers can rejoice that the brewery will expand its wine collection in 2018. The local watering hole is also expanding its disc golf course to feature a full 18 holes, making it a great spot to spend the afternoon with family.
Same hotel, even better experience.
The Courtyard Marriott Carolina Beach Oceanfront will undergo a series of renovations in 2018. These renovations include new artwork and carpet in the lobby, a bistro, meeting rooms, and new artwork and TVs in all of the rooms.
