WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — When the Causeway Cafe in Wrightsville Beach decided to close its doors for good at the end of 2018 the restaurant had been there for 32 years; now, a restaurant with more than 40 years in Carolina Beach is hoping to continue its legacy in Wrightsville Beach.

Gulfstream Restaurant has been a Carolina Beach staple for 40 years (celebrated in 2018) and serves up a variety of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

“Gulfstream is the perfect combination of a casual, restaurant and a new place to discover. It’s where friends gather daily, seasonal visitors come back year after year and even first-time diners immediately know they have found a special restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal and perhaps make new friends at the next table,” according to the restaurant’s ‘about us’ section of its website.

The new restaurant will be opening in Wrightsville Beach in spring of 2019, assuming things go according to plan.

Gulfstream did not initially respond to questions from Port City Daily about the new location but according to a Facebook post, it appears the restaurant is ‘expanding’ — meaning the Carolina Beach location will remain.

At the Carolina Beach location, breakfast is served all day and the restaurant offers a combined lunch and dinner menu.

Salads, burgers, and Cajun pasta are just a few of the items on the lunch/dinner menu which can be found online.
