CAROLINA BEACH – A body was recovered from the surf in Carolina Beach Thursday night, April 25th.
According to Detective Sergeant Scott Hettinger with the Carolina Beach Police Department, shortly after 10pm Thursday night a person walking down the beach in front of the downtown boardwalk area noticed a body floating in the surf. The person called 911 to report the situation to police.
Hettinger said the body of an adult male was recovered and they are trying to identify the man in order to notify family members. The individual was not carrying identification but police did find a hotel card in his possession and they are working on positively identifying him.
The case is still under investigation.
