CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Residents and visitors may spot a new construction project off of South Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach.
A beach store with a long history at its location is being demolished.
The store at the corner of Cape Fear and S. Lake Park boulevards was heavily damaged from the past two hurricane seasons.
According to Jeremy Hardson with Planning & Development, crews started gutting the building Tuesday.
He says the owners plan to make this lot into a mixed-use building with commercial businesses on the ground floor and residential space above it.
